Hello, novice trainer! My name is PROFESSOR OAK and I'm a pokemon scientist! This world is inhabited by creatures called pokemon. They're everywhere! Which is why YOU need MY help!
Right now, you're in Pallet Town. The next town is Viridian City, but you'll need to go through ROUTE 1 to get there. Remember, you must ALWAYS use the routes and pathways or risk getting horribly lost and ravaged by wild pokemon!
You'll start out with ONE pokemon in its LOWEST form on level six. You may have any pokemon you choose, excluding all legendary types. To strengthen your pokemon, you will have to battle. Right now, three pokemon battles, with either wild pokemon or a trainer, will gain your pokemon a level.
You must do everything in proper, chronological order! Each gym is locked, so, until you've been given the key, you cannot enter! Gym leaders will give you information as you talk to them and, remember, they can answer any questions about the city you're in.
If, for any reason, you no longer want a pokemon on your team, you may leave said pokemon with the babysitter in Vermillion City. You can also pick pokemon back up there, just as you left them.
Oh, I am so proud! My grandson, Gary, just beat the ELITE FOUR and is now the Champion! At least, I think he is...He might have already been beaten. Ah, well. Let bygones be bygones, eh?
Anyway, with all of that out of the way, let's get down to what you need. Take this PARCEL.
*TRAINER got the PARCEL from PROF. OAK!*
*TRAINER put the PARCEL in the PACK!*
In the PARCEL, you'll find everything you need to start out; a pokedex, a town map, five pokeballs, two potions, a collapsible bike, a collapsible fishing rod, and TM 12.
TM 12 contains PAY DAY.
And don't forget to tell me which pokemon you want to start out with so I can be sure to give it to you!
TRAINER, a world of adventure and excitement awaits you!
